I’m Shellee Graham, Welcome to my Website!
This is my personal domain, where I show-and-tell a bit about myself and my work. I wear a lot of hats, including artist, photographer, graphic designer, preservationist, and author. Lucky for me, all of these skill sets mix nicely with my passion for vintage architecture, neon signs, and historic Route 66.
I caught the bug for the Mother Road in 1990, while living in St. Louis, and embarked on my first road trip from there to the route’s end in Santa Monica. I had only roadmaps and a traveling companion then; no signs to guide me, no internet, and no cell phone.
That trip resulted in an exhibit of 66 photos that appeared in a local mall in 1992. This was followed by other showings in many of the Route 66 states, and led the the collection being picked up by an art touring company that exhibited my work for the next 16 years at shows all over the country.
During this time, I worked professionally as a courtroom artist, fashion illustrator, graphic designer, and photographer. I remain a dedicated and active Route 66 ambassador and preservationist, and travel the route regularly with my husband, author and historian Jim Ross. We live on an original stretch of old U.S. 66 near Arcadia, Oklahoma.
Browse around, and send me a note with your comments or just to say hello. It will be good to hear from you.
